Plum Pastries

Ingredients
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 (17.3 oz) package puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup Sunsweet® Amaz!n™ Diced Prunes
  • 3 Tbsp almond paste (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • powdered sugar
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Stir together cream cheese, honey, extract and cinnamon in a small bowl until smooth. Unfold puff pastry on a lightly floured board. Roll each sheet into a 10 inch square and cut each into 4 equal pieces.¬†Place equal amounts of cheese filling in the center of each pastry square and top each with 1 Tbsp Amaz!ns™. Crumble almond paste over filling, if desired, and fold over pastry to form a triangle. Pinch edges to seal. Place on prepared baking sheet and lightly brush with beaten egg,¬†and sprinkle with almonds. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Let cool slightly, and then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
