Position:	Plant & Dryer Manager
Reporting To:	President, SS Dryers/VP - Member Services, SS Growers
Location:	Corning, CA
Description:	CONTRIBUTION STATEMENT: Promotes and maintains positive, effective relationship with grower members and manages and is responsible for a Sunsweet dehydrator. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES DRYER Communicates effectively with members Supervises the dryer work force to maximize labor efficiency while maintaining the highest degree of sanitation and safety standards and proper personnel practices Ensures adherence to company work rules through timely and appropriate use of disciplinary procedures Works toward constant improvement in safe work practices Holds regular job site safety meetings Completes and keeps current job safety analyses Maintains positive employee/supervisor relationships Supports and implements Company's EEO commitment as integral part of employee management. Directs the maintenance of dryer buildings and equipment to attain maximum operational efficiency Develops and monitors dryer operational budget Maintains effective control over variable costs Manages all fruit receipts and shipments in an orderly and fair manner SUNSWEET GROWER OPERATIONS Maintains cost effective manpower utilization Ensures compliance with GMP's and good housekeeping standards within the department Implements training, discipline and other Company programs within the department Ensures adherence to Company work rules through timely and appropriate use of disciplinary procedures Works toward constant improvement in safe work practices Holds regular job site safety meetings Completes and keeps current job safety analyses Supports and implements Company's EEO commitment as integral part of department management. Promptly informs superior of known or anticipated problems Coordinates and cooperates with other department managers PUBLIC RELATIONS Represents Sunsweet Growers and/or Sunsweet Dryers in a positive, enthusiastic manner Presents a professional image to members and non-members of Sunsweet Communicates and cooperates with other managers, field representatives and management persons of both Sunsweet Growers and Sunsweet Dryers. PERSONAL GROWTH Demonstrates commitment to continued personal and professional growth and development Exercises tact and discretion in interpersonal contacts Respects confidentiality of privileged information
Requirements:	QUALIFICATIONS Must possess: Previous supervisory experience Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English High school degree or equivalent Clean driving record Responsible employment and work history Prefer someone with: A 4-year college degree Computer literacy Dried fruit, agricultural, and/or marketing cooperative experience Maintenance aptitude and experience 2- 5 years of supervisory experience Personnel training Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment battery of tests: Background check (employment, criminal, education) Drug screen
