Plum Pastries

1 (8 oz package) cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup honey

1 tsp almond extract

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 (17.3 oz package) puff pastry, thawed

1/2 cup Sunsweet® Plum Amazins

3 tbsp almond paste (optional)

1 egg, beaten

1/2 cup sliced almonds

Powdered sugar


Preheat oven to 400°F and line a large baking sheets with parchment paper. Stir together cream cheese, honey, extract and cinnamon in a small bowl until smooth. Unfold puff pastry on a lightly floured board. Roll each sheet into a 10 inch square and cut each into 4 equal pieces. Place equal amounts of cheese filling in the center of each pastry square and top each with 1 tbsp Plum Amazins. Crumble almond paste over filling, if desired, and fold over pastry to form a triangle. Pinch edges to seal. Place on prepared baking sheet and lightly brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with almonds. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Let cool slightly, and then dust with powdered sugar before serving. Makes 8 pastries.
