Grandma Ruby's Prune Cake

2 cups sugar

2 Tbsp butter/CriscoŽ

1 cup Sunsweet Prune Juice

3 eggs

2 cups prunes, cooked and mashed

1 Tbsp each, ground cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg

2 1/2 cups plain flour

1 Tbsp baking soda


Cream the butter, sugar and eggs and beat well. Add spices. Add baking soda to the prune juice and mix into the above mix, alternating with flour. Add prunes last.

Bake in 3 nine-inch pans @ 350 degrees for about 30 min

Grandma Ruby says to use a rich chocolate icing.
