Maple Butter:

1/2 cup butter, softened

2 tbsp pure maple syrup

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400F. Lightly grease or line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Stir together dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or a fork until butter is the size of peas (do not over mix). Stir in buttermilk and extract, then Plum Amazins and pecans. Turn mixture onto a lightly floured board and knead several times until dough is smooth. Press into an 8 x 12 inch rectangle. Cut down the center to make 2 long strips then cut each strip into 4 squares. Cut each square in half diagonally to make 16 small triangles and place on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Stir together all Maple Butter ingredients in a small bowl and serve with warm scones. Makes 16 small scones.
